With- visions of tragedy in his mind, a thoroughly frightened guest at a Hawera hotel rushed to the proprietor reeentlv with the news that something was. wrong in the bathroom. All hands, -and the staff were immediately on the scene. The door was locked, and loud snores came from within, but if was some- considerable time before the sleeper was aroused from his impromptu bed. Being awakened by the loud knocking and calls of the excited investigators, the sleeper received the biggest fright of all. He bad been asleep for about an hour in the water, which bad by this’ time become cold. Being thoroughly tried after a long motor trip, the soothing effect of the hot water was responsible for the incident.
