A Paris correspondent states: It is understood that inter-Allied conversations show that it is essential that an agreement should be reached between Britain, France, Italy and' Belgium concerning reparations.

M. Forgeot, Minister of Public Works', has' issued a report- indicating that reconstruction of the devastated areas is practically competed, and that the industries are now more efficient than before the war. M. Forgeot estimates the total cost to date at round: about a thousand million sterling. The Budget- estimates for 1929 contain a. further £40,000,000.
