Time, 1.2. OTAKI HACK. Of 130 sovs. Seven furlongs. Discourse (El. S. Bagby) 1 Rotowhera (U. France) 2 Acred (J. Barry) 3 Scratched : Royal Acre. Also started : Royal Game, Shining Armour, Imperial Spark. Won by a nose, half a length betwen second and third. Time, 1.54 3-5. DILLON HU ON SCRATCHED. WELLINGTON, Nov. 22. Dillon Huon lias been scratched for all engagements at the Wellington trotting meeting. HAWERA TRACK NOTES.
(By “Limited.”) With, a number of trainers and horses away at Otaki, there was- not much fast ' work accomplished this morning, the bulk of the horses being relegated to half-pace work. The plough gallop had been redisced, and was in good order. Llanore was the only horse to use the trial grass, galloping five furlongs in 1.4 by herself in good style. Vivo went a solid seven furlongs on the plough, although not against the watch, going 14sec to the furlong. Vivo is to make the trip to Feilding next week.
Benzoro did strong pace over a ouple of circuits.
Egeia, Coolmint and Grand Mariner were given half-pace work only. Partnga lias apparently recovered from his soreness, and Trainer Jackson allowed him to run along half a mile, which he accomplished in 53sec. Partaga will be further tried out before' the Feilding trip is decided upon. . Havering finished in front of Pntonga over five furlongs in 1.71-. 51. Conway’s team, San Fera. Calapat. Glengariff. Pikimai and Airway, were all given half to three-quarter pace work. Sovena ran a verv attractive gallop, heating Calyx comfortably over five furlongs in 1.3, Flying Rinse. Vnlpre, Tarek a, Tuamatoe and Reremoana all did useful exercise work.
Ten a ere and Ngaween galloned half a mile, finishing together in 52-s«e. Skvpoint ran the first four of six furlongs in 52-lsec.
Hawera will he largelv renresented at .Feilding next week, all local stables being represented.
