(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The euchre party and dance in aid of the sports candidate (Mr A. J. Hansen) held last evening was very successful. The tables were well occupied by players and a splendid evening was spent by all present. For the dancing, first-class music was supplied by Marsh’s orchestra. Supper was provided by the ladies. The ladies 5 ' prize was won by Mrs Bennett and Mrs Rothery, Miss McPliillips winning the consolation prize. In the men’s section the winners were Air Wallace and Air Gate. Mr A. Jones winning the consolation. The folic wing additional donations to the Manaia- Municipal Brass Band new instrument fund have been received: Mr E). J. Betts £l, “Friend” £l, “Friend”. 4s 6d.
