The high council of the Salvation Army, however, is prepared to fight the issue of the pnncipal office, which it claims is in a sense hereditary. The council pointed out that under the present conditions General Booth, apart from being spiritual chief, holds on behalf of the Army thirty millions sterling in property throughout- the world, including £1,040,000 m Australia and New Zealand, of which lie is sole trustee.
