He afterwards went to Rawhia. A British official wireless message states that Major-General Sir Frederick' Sykes. Governor-Designate of Bombay, has been appointed additional Knight Grand Commander of the Indian Empire. Sir Frederick resigned his seat in Parliament to be Governor of Bombay. The deatli occurred last night of a well-known citizen of Palmerston North, Mr. William Mundy, aged 63 years. Deceased collapsed suddenly while singing in the choir prior to an induction service at the Congregational Church.—Press Association. Miss F. Taylor, niece of Lord; Riddell,‘the first woman dirt track motorcycle rider, leaves for Australia on November 24 by the Euripidies, states a London cable. She is an all-rouncl sportswoman and most keen on dirttrack riding in which she holds many records,
