PATEA SEAT.
ME, DICKIE IN UPPER , WAITOTARA. In Saturday’s “Star” mention was made of the preparations for the trip to the Upper Waitotara, by Mr. H. G. Dickie, 1V1.P,, in pensuance of Ins campaign. Yesterday he and liis brother returned, with the little car covered in mud. Mr. Dickie reports that they got over a bank at the specially bad part of the road, but were hauled up again by a. party of setlers, none the worse for their ex-, perieuce. There, was a good meeting, at Makakaho on Saturday -afternoon, in Mr. Pearce’s woolshed, Mr. F. Pearce presiding. A vote of thanks, moved by Mir. \Valdie, seconded by Mr. Menine, was carried unanimously. In the evening there was. a capital attendance of settlers at Ngamatapoiiri. and after an attentive hearing, Mr. Washington proposed and Mr. Annabel! seconded a. -hearty vote ol thanks. The motion was carried unanimously.
