HAWERA METHODIST CHOIR.
CONCERT AT ELTHAAI

Fox, the concerted work of the choir, particularly in anthems, •was a. source of pleasure, each number bearing the stamp of outstanding merit. Messrs J- D. McQuin and E. Paccy were in excellent voice and scored a distinct triumph over the generally admitted faulty acoustic properties of the hall. Swan (cornet) quite captivating the audience, while two very youthful performers in Masters. D*. Ritwson (clarinet) and L. (violin) were equally successful in evoking applause; in his opening _ selection front “Mignon” (with variations) tnc former maintained an entrancing tone and was note* perfect. The contributions of Misses M. Instone (elocutionist) and W. Mills (soloist) were also much appreciated. Apologies were made by the Rev. G. S. Em j nit;, for the unavoidable absence of Miss D.
