Four Italians were wounded and 18 others had remarkable escapes on Saturday night when a' bomb was dropped among them while they were playing cards in a house in West Melbourne. Two. men who were seen peeping through a window before the explosion escaped in a motor car. Some of the Italians were volunteers on the wharves. The bomb, did considerable damage in the room. This is ‘the fifth similar outrage. Acute distress, is prevalent among families qf waterside workers as a result, of the strike, and an appeal has been made by social organisations, asking the ■ public to shelter the children of ivjitpr.sider.c. until normal times return.
