KAPONGA QUEEN CARNIVAL.
“ INGLESIDE AND SOCIAL. An “Ingleside” social and dance was held in the town hall, Kaponga, last evening ’’ in support of the •‘green” candidate (Miss Irene Guy) in the Kaponga. Band’s queen' carnival. Possibly owing to a surfeit of local festivities during the past week the attendance of dancers, numbering between twenty and thirty couples, was soniiewhat disappointing to the promoters, although the participants enjoyed themselves to the full. Dance music was supplied by Ron. Marsh’s orchestra and the duties or M’sC. weid carried out bv Alessrs A. Alelville and C. H. Brewer. The entertainment portion of the programme was' contributed by Misses At. Vickers and Q. AlcLean, of Stratford, whose rendition of vocal items was much appreciated. Aliss Alabel Guy, Alatapu, created a very favourable impression as an exponent of Scottish dancing. In response to a vociferous encore following ■ the Highland fling, Alias Guy danced the seann triubhas. Air. J. Hamilton, Alangatolti, accompanied the dancer on the pipes.
