RAWER A BOYS’ OPPORTUNITY. ■ The only opportunity that the Young Australian League has- given boys of the Dominion to participate m one oi their oversea tours is now being offered. The tour will include' -a trip to .Sydney, where five days will be spent as the guests of the League and the preliminary training done before the embarkation for the grand tour. Leaving Sydney on December 27 by tho Makura -the patty will disembark at San Francisco. By easy stages the route through tho States' will embrace some of the world’s magnificent scenery, as well as the great cities of America. With a welcome at tlie White House by tlie President of the United States and ait* tho Federal Parliament House af Ottawa I>y the Prime Minister, the par-tv will bo brought in touch with the heads of two of the great nations of the world. The secondary schools, universities and Rotoirians of -both Canada aind the States are all keenly interested in the tour and are out to make the,if welcome a very cordial one. The leader. (Mr J. J. Simons) is desirous of having a company of Dominion boys as part of the contingent, and hais deputed Mr John Tucker to visit New Zealand and select the boys. The cost of the tour, including the visit to Sydney, is £195, and the tour is of about six months’ duration. Boys between -the ages of 14 and 17 | years are eligible. Applications should be made early so that the selection can be made by Mr Tucker during his visit to- Hawera on Thursday, October 25. Parents requiring any information may interview him at- the Central Hotel, Hawera, on Thursday evening or Friday morning before lie loaves for New Plymouth.
