The wind-up ball held recently at Manga to ki proved quite a success, and a most enjoyable night was spent bv the large number of dancers from all parts of the district. Cobum’s orchestra supplied the music, and Miss Cooper, of Eltham, played several appreeiatecV extras. Airs. L. Rowe, has recovered surfi'•’iently. from a serious operation to leave the Hawera Hospital. Mrs. Webby, ' an old and respeetd resident of the district, is seriously ill at lier home.

Although the weather ha® been very rough and wet for the past month, gpveral frosts were experienced this week.
