ENABLING LEGISLATION PASSED.

Telegraph advice was received on Saturday from Mr H. G. Dickie. M.P., the secretary of the Egmont A. and P. Association 'stating that Parliament had l passed the enabling clause, of the main Act required by the association to empower it to sell portion of the showgrounds area and apply the purchase money to the reduction of- the mortgage on the whole property. The association has. thus the necessary legislative authority to proceed with its ohm for sub-dividing an aitea of approximately seven and a half acres on the Waiha-Turuturn Road and selling it as building sites. The next step in the proceedings will be to seek the approval of the Hawera. Borough Council of t-1 e plan of sub-division.
