Mr. J. P. Kalaugher, Dominion secretary of the Friesian Association, was in town yesterday and to-day in connection with matters of interest to Friesian breeders. While here he had an interview with Mr. P. O. Veale on the question of the test and other matters concerning butter-fat and also the production of cheese. The position of Yj and master to the band of the Ist Battalion Taranaki Regiment lias been accepted by Lieut. T. 11. Hughes, late of the Woolston Band, Christchurch. The vacancy arose through the resignation of Lieut. F. W. G. McLeod, who left New- Plymouth for Queensland to join the Ipswich Railway Band
