DOMINION LADIES- TOURNEY. (By Telegraph —Press association.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 1. The third round of the Dominion women’s golf championship was played to-day. The most closely contested game of the day was that between Mrs. Banister and Miss G. Opham, which went to tlie 20th green alter it had seemed certain Miss Upham would win. Miss Upham commenced with par golf. Winning the first four holes she was two up at the turn. The next five were halved. Miss Upham lost the loth hole by blissing an easy putt and Mrs. ■ Banister, winning the 16th, squared the match. The 17th, 18tli and 19th were halved, and Mrs. Banister won the match at tlie 20th with a perfect four. In* her match with Miss Rathbone, which she won 8 up and 6, Miss V. Upham gave the finest display seen so far, doing the first nine holes in 38, two better than bogey. An interesting game was seen when Miss Culling and Mrs Weston met. At each of the first three holes Mrs. Weston took three putts, but was only l down, Miss Culling taking the third with a pretty four. At the next hole Mrs. Weston holed a long putt to square the game, but lost the lead when she lost her ball at the 6th hole. At the Bth Mrs. Weston drove to the edge of the green and obtained a great 3. At the turn Mrs. Weston was 1. up, but Miss Culling then commenced to play her heft game and took tlie next two holes with threes. At the 12th Miss Culling sank a 12ft. putt, tor a four and increased her lead, while the 13th was halved Miss Culling had another win at the 14th and the match elided two holes later.
