TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
THE MONTH’S WORK. The, ordinary meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at New Plymouth on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, when there were present: Af essrs. W. D. Armit (chairman), S. Blake. C. J. Ryan, N. R. Olelancl and H. A. Foreman. The application of A. W. Car wood for Seetiton 3, Block Nil., Totoro, was deferred and that of J. lorns for Section 8, Block XVI., Omona, was refused. 'J’he following application to transfer were approved: —Section 63, Block 1., Ngaire, ,J. B. Clemow and It McFarlane (half interest) to Miss R. B. ltawles; Section 662, Patea District. H. A. Geary to G. P. Spratt. The reports of the arbitrators on the renewals of E.R. Leases over Sections 558, Part 559 and 569, also Section 582, Town of New Plymouth, were received. Mr. F. H. Brett was appointed arbitrator in connection with the renewal of Education Reserve leases. The report of the valuer on the renewal of the E.L. lease over Section 19, Block XIII., Mahoe. was received. Dir. A. D. Reid was granted permission to erect a dwelling on E.R. Section 3, Block XLVI., Town of Opujiake. It was resolved to offer Section 7, Block X, Poutau (Education Reserve), to public competition, also the lease of Sub 19 of Section 118, Block !., Opunake. Forty-nine applications under the Discharged .'Soldiers' Settlement Act were considered, and of these four applications for the exemption from residence were approved; three applicacations to transfer were recommended; and two applications for current advances were recommended. Fifty-seven applications under the Deteriorated Lands Act were considered and various recommendations were made in regard to remission of rental, reclassification of land, reduction in capital value and advances lor seeds, manures and general farm material.
