FUTURE TRAMPS ARRANGED. The latest bulletin issued to members of the Mount Egmont Alpine Ciub states, .inter alia : A special railway excursion has been organised by the Department from Wellington. and many members of the club are assisting, whlie several have undertaken to .go as guides to the vaar.ouis parties arranged 1 on the- mountain. The. tain is due to arrive at Hawera. at 8.40 p.m. on Saturday, the 29th inst;, and leaves on the return journey at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The tourists will eave Hawera at 8 a.m. on Sunday by buses and ears lor the moflniain. Since ou,i last meeting the rules of the Society have, been registered, and ive take this opportunity of pointing out that all members of the.club elected after September 1 in each year will only .nay half rates for that year. The following trips have been arranged. for the next few weeks: — Trip. No. 10. —This- will be the postlimed' trip from Dawson’s Hostel to North Egmont House, on October 7. Leave Dawson’s at 9.30 a.m. Distance is 6J miles each way. Mr.S. Fookes, of Stratford, will be leader. Trip No. 11.—Labour week-end trip to Mangahao and Tararuu. Ranges. ■Cara will leave Saturday, October 20 f.tav the night at Shannon. On Sunday we will go through the Mangahao power station, tramp to. the Lakes and then ear to Levin in the afternoon. On Mondav we will tramp to the Waieeh'ii Hut 'on the Tararua. Ranges and return home that evening. Mrs A. Bates, of Kaoonga. has been appointed leader. All members intending to take part in this trip must notify the secretary, box 118. Hawera., by October 13, and any further information can be obtained 1 from him. Trip No. 12. —A beach tramp has been arranged for October 28. Oars will be taken to the bottom of the Lower Glen Road, which is 1J miles on the Opainn.k© side of M.anaia.. Leave here at 10 a>.m. and tramp about, five miletsi along the beaoli and up to Mr Maclcie’s garden at Otakelio, to .inspect his native plant collection. The return to the Kaupokonui- Beach, will lie made across country. The trip will 1 he under the leadership of (Mr L. 8. Mnclcie. of Otakelio. **
