Messrs. G. Haggitt .and S. Evans, of Palmerston North, are on a visit to Hawera, and are guests at the White Hart Hotel. A Press Association message from Hamilton states that ‘Sir Maui Bomare who is suffering chiefly from severe neuritis, and who will probably be under treatment for ten days,, is in a private hospital at- Hamilton. Charles Williamson, one of the oldest residents of Auckland', died last night. He was 92 years of age. He arrived in New Zealand in 1862 and took_ a leadin,w part in the earliest journalism. He was a war correspondent during the Waikato Wars and was manager of the “Southern Cross” newspaper for many years. Since 1876 he was in business as a land and estate agent (states a Press Association message from Auckland). ■
