FLOWER SHOWS.
DISPLAYS AT WAIT AH A AND INGLEWOOD. Very close interest is taken by South Taranaki horticulturists in the flower shows in other parts oi the province, and at Inglewood and Wai■t.ara yesterday there were a number ol them exhibiting. They scored a considerable number of successes. Miss D. Swadling, of Hawera, who exhibited at Inglewood and then went on to \\ aitara, told a “Hawera Star - ’ representative that the arrays oi blooms at both shows, and especially at Waitara, were very large and oi excellent qualify. Waitara, she said, had one or the best and largest displays she .had seen in Taranaki. Among the awards at Waitara were the following : Hyacinth.—Miss Craig 1, Airs. P. J. Allen. 2, Aliss Craig h.c., Rev. Avery c. ~_• . Hyacinths.—Miss Craig 1, Rev. Avery 2 and h.c.Hyacinths.—Mis's Craig 1, Rev. Avery 2, Airs. P. J. Allen h.c. At Inglewood the following awards were made: Narcissi, 12 varieties.—Aliss I). Swadling 1, Alms. J. Goble 2. Narcissi, 6 varieties —Aliss D. Swadling 1, .Airs'. J. Goble 2. Narcissi, 3 varieties. —Airs. J. Goble 1. Airs. C. Goble 2, Aliss D. Swadling h.c. Long trumpet, 6 varieties.—Aliss R. Swadling 1, Airs. J. Goble 2. Long trumpet, 3 varieties. —Miss D. Swadling 1, Mrs. J. Goble 2. Long trumpet, 1 variety.—Airs. J. Goble 1, Miss D. Swadling 2..
