Banking department.—Proprietors’ capital, £14,553,000; rest, £3,771,000; public deposits, £15,888,000; other deposits £100,801,000; seven day and other bills, £Booo—total, £135,021,000. Government securities, £28,065,009; other securities, £44,899,090; note® in reserve, £59,414,000; gold and silver coin, £2,643,000—t0ta1, £135,021,000. Proportion of reserve to liabilities, 53.10 per cent. Short-dated loans, 3* per cent.; three months bills, 4-i peu cent.
