Morris, and comprising cpmI petition winners, all of whom gave a. 1 performance that' delighted a large .’audience. The performers' were: Dance, Junne Goodwin; song, “Brownie,” Archie Sunderland; dance duo, Christine MoLaren and Norma Thomas 1 ; recitation, “Vespers,” Pixie Kent; violini solo, “Sarabande,” Ray Downey; song, “Slumber Seas,” Pauline McEwan ; recitation, “But He Did It,” Reg Muschamp; skipping dance, Joan Thomas; song, “Japanese Butterfly,” Doris Gilmore and Joyce Knightbridge; piano solo, “Sailing,” Shirley Craig; recitation, “Competitions,” Joyce Goodwin ; dance, Audrey McLaren; song, “The Fairy Pipers,” Olga Hancock; violin duo, “Gavotte,” Margaret and Louis Fox; recitation, “The Way To Do It.” Eilai Gunderson; song, “The Swallows,” Jim Collins dance, Highland fling. Norma Dixon; dialogue. - “The Mad' Tea Party,” M. Djunond. Doris Warren, D. Sage and N. Turnbull. Last night the Hawera Municipal Band gave a very interesting series of number-s, including “Royal Trophy” and ‘ ‘ Avondale” (m a robes'), “O’er Hill and, Dale” (fantasia!, “Two Juliets” (<~omet duo), “Fascination” (waltz), and “El Dorado” (ma rch). The’’band will contribute selections this evening.
BABY SHOW. The baby show was organised by Mrs. F. C. King, the judges being Miss Young and Mrs. G. H. Buckeridge The winners were: Under 6 months, Geoffrey Jaine 1; 6 to 12 months, Pamela Foster 1. MALE BEAUTY COMPETITION. RACE FOR FIRST PLACE. Much enthusiasm is being shown in the competition for the “male beauty” premiersliip. Four of the five candidates are scoring well, and all are fairly close together. The results up to 10. o’clock last night were: J. M. Townsend 1676 W. A. Spragg 1595 M. R. Jones 1533 M. H. Kendall 1529 •7. A. Dalgetty 769 Voting will cease at 8.45 this evening, and the crowning ceremony will take place at 9 o’clock, when Mr. J. •Renwick will introduce a novel stunt.
