DAIRY CONTROL BOARD REPRESENTATION.
(Tin the Editor). Sir, —From the brevity and ( tone of Ids note in Wednesday's “Soar” one could certainly he excused tor assuming that the producers’ interests on the Dairy Control Board were «. very secondary consideration in .’lie general make-up of Mr Cbrrigan’s public and private duties. Indeed,' by hi.s reference to the report of the Rexdalle Dairy Company meeking, if we carry this assumption further, it would explain Mr Ccirrig.au’s failure to comprehend and distinguish the difference between the policy" of the hoard, the business of the hoard, and a charge made by Mr Brechin against the board. Surely, from. Mr Corrigan’s own experience as tlie discoverer of that mares- nest known as the “Pam- Charges’’ ana which ended so ignommiously for Mr Corrigan, he does not expect us to accept Mr' Brechin’s statement before hearing the other side of the case. But how paltry is the whole affair! If Mr Brechin can prove his charge then we shall have evidence that Mr Corrigan with five others, collectively made a vaiin attempt to save the producers of New Zealand the vast sum of £101)0. That is to say, Air Corrigan tolls us. in effect tliat he tried butt failed to save for the produ'oers in his ‘ward £166 los 4d. In the face of this, Mr Oonigan s reference to the Rexdale Dairy Company meeting must have been meant for a joke. But what we would like to know is how Air Corrigan can vote for what 'the merchants* asked for —a free market—and then upbraid the merchants. to the producers, and not appear to he “running with the hare and hunting with the hounds: . Will Air Oorigan enlighten us? Again thanki„e you In nnlAApotiou.-lom.^^
