v WOMEN’S DIVISION. MONTHLY MEETING. There were pi'esent at the ordinary meeting o.f the South Taranaki women’s branch of the Farmers’ Union yesterday Mesdames .Carter, Cameron, ueath, Seed, Washer, Oldfield, Cocker, Viekeridge, Barker, Johnstone, Meuli, and Miss .Johnston, Air. E. Iv. Cameron wrote thanking the ladies for help accorded at the farmers’ ball at Eltham. Mrs. Cocner said she would be going to \\ anganui as delegate to a meeting of the advisory board for the bush nursing and housekeeping scheme. A letter of thanks was received from •Mrs. Gillies for the many kindnesses accorded to her during her stay in Taranaki. It was resolved to convey thanks to the H. Caplen estate and Nurse Harvey for hooks for the Book Club. The Whai'eroa ladies- paid in £4 for the society. The money was collected at a dance and euchre party. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr. and Mrs. Betts, of BCollybank, thanking them for their kindly offer of the garden for a- garden party to he held'on Labour Day. Mrs. Meuli proposed, and Mrs. Seed seconded, a motion that Mrs. Carter be authorised to discuss with the Hospital Board matters in regard to a maternity ward in the pubhc hospital.
