TASMAN WEATHER.
* — STILL UNSATISFACTORY NO FLIGHT POSSIBLE. FOR TWO OR THREE DAYS. (By Telegraph—Special to The Star.) WELLINGTON, Sept, 6. It is unlikely that the Tasman flight can commence for another two day® at least. This is the conclusion reached on to-day’s survey of the weather by Dr. Kidson, The conditions, he informed your correspondent, are still very distiibed in the Tasman Sea, with a very low barometer in the southern portion, where it is down to 28.97. This is reported from ■ the steamer Manuka, which is nearly in the centre of the southern part of the Tasman, en route to Melbourne from Wellington, and about half-way on the joumev. The winds are freshening from the north of New Zealand, and it is expected to increase to gale force in places. The weather will become unsettled, and general rain is probable.
PLANE MAY LEAVE TO-MORROW. (Australian Tress Association.) Received 1.50 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Sept, 6. The weather is still unsatisfactory. It is unlikely that the Southern Cross will leave to-day, but is likely to do so to-morrow.
