■ * ELECTION OF CATHEDRAL CHATTER. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) HAMILTON, Sept. 6. The cathedral parishioners met Just night to elect a new chapter. The chapter had resigned owing to disagreements over vestment services and financial matters. The result of the election was that only two- seats changed. Both new' members expressed opposition to High Church practices, and consequently the position is practically unchanged. FIVE-YEAR-OLD BOY MISSING. FOXTON, Sept. 5. The five-year-old son of Thomas Morgan, of Foxton, disappeared from the larmhouse on the bank of the Manawatu River at Whirokino yesterday. So far there ia no trace of the missing lad. The river is being dragged. ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETIES CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON. Sept. 6. The AeclimitiiSation Societies’ conference carried -remits-, proving that rangers should have the right to search parcels in transit in cases under the Fisheries Act, -similar to the -powers given under the Animals Protection ■and Game Act; that in all case of conviction for illegal -taking trout, in addition to a fine, further penalty of five shillings per fish be inflicted for those taken; tli-at the Government be requested to take steps to prohibit, importation. sale or use of the double hook known as stroke-haulers’ hook. It was . decided to recommend that the issuing of part sea-son fishing licenses be discontinued. ->■ INCREASE! IN DAIRY PRODUCTION. WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. The dairy division’s grading figures for August 1928, show an increase for ■butter of 26.9, -at 2852 tons and for cheese- an increase of 118.2 at 755 tons, ais -corn-paired with August 1927. Reduced to terms o-f butter-fat equivalentthe gradings oif dairy produce- for August, 1928. show an increase of 33.03 over the grading for August, 1927.
