MUNICIPAL BAND.
MONTHLY MEETING. GOOD WORK DONE. The monthly meting of the Hawera Municipal Band Gommiktee was held last evening at which there were present,: —Mr E. Diixori (chair). Messrs E. Gouild, J. Clbaimipioii, H. N. Lester H. C A. Fox, T. Killpatrick, O. Haddon and W. Hawkins . (secretary). The matter of uniforms for the Wanganui contest was left in the hands of the secretary with power to act. It was decided to invite Messrs Beerley and Lester to act as adjudicators. at the solo competition to be held on September 12. . The bandmaster reported 'that eight parades were held in August, seven rehearsals and one concert in High Street. Alii things considered the senior hand’s attendance lias been very good with thirty-one on the roll while the junior band continued to make good progress, Three boys having joined and bringing up the total to twentyfive. An inspection of uniforms was held by Messrs Champion and Kilpatrick and a report would be picseii,— The junior band solo, contest will be held on September 12. at 7.30 p.m.
