LONDON, Aug. 30. It is regarded as curious, that leading notables at Locarno, Sir Austen Chamberlain, M. Briand, Dr. Stresemann have all been seriously ill at the same time.
M. Briand was long in convalescing. It was noticed at the signing, of the pact thait he was much thinner. Dr. Sfcre&emann, as cabled earlier, has been ill siiic© before the German elections. It is stated he may retire at the' en<l oi October, and his successor will be Herr A’on Schubert. Sir Austen Chamberlain ivilt leave Liverpool to-day oil a prolonged voyage in the Pacific/ He states he is only sufficiently Avell enough to go. A prolonged period of overAvork has drawn upon his reserve of strength. It is not expected that he will 'be back in London before December 7.
