The Blood Stallion SANDSTAR (18) By Sands of the Orient from Mary Seaton. SANiDSTAR, foaled 1921, is a hay horse standing’ 16:2 high and is of a beautiful temper and constitution. No thoroughbred seen south of the line has, or had, a stouter strain o'f ,blood than Sandstur. His grandsire on the male side is Rock Sand, and- on the dam’s side Bright Steel. - His great grahdsires were ‘“S'anfoin” and Henry of Navarre’’ (sires side), and St. Simon and Pcsitano (dam ’s side). These are names to conjure with and columns could be written of the performances o'f the progeny of the great sires named. SANDSTA'R, during his short stay on the turf, was a successful performer, also his sire, Sand's of The Orient, and his grandsire. Rock Sand, who wan the Derby and St. Legcr and Two Thousand Guineas in England. Sandst'ar broke his fetlock joint and only raced on ten occasions, twice as a two-yc'ar-old, .being unplaced, eight limes as a three-year-old, being placed on every octe'asiOH, winning live, als ! o once second and twice third.
