NEW YORK, Aug. 29. President Borneo, in a statement at Port au Prince to-day, said:— ‘‘More than one hundred lieu sand people are facing starvation as a -result of the recent hurricane which devastated' a large area in Haiti. All animals were killed and the entire crops- destroyed. It will take six months to grow new crops. The resources of the Government are insufficient to help adequately these unfortunate peple. We must rebuild roads and bridges and provide food and shelter.”
