STABILISING LEANING TOWER OF PISA. WORK GIVEN TO ENGLISH FIRM. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) MILAN, Aug. 28. English contractors have been entrusted with the stabilisation of the leaning tower of Fish. 'They wore re-lady to begin operation's when the local Fascist Engineers’ Association unexpectedly passed a resolution combating the wisdom of allowing an English .firm to carry out the work. The association considered it a humiliation to Italian engineers and architects, and an injury to national industry. and pride. It was urged that the work be done bv Italians.
