EXECUTIVE MEETING. LEVY REDUCED BY HALF. At a meeting of the executive of the Federation of Taranaki Dairy Companies vesterday there were present: Messrs T. A. Winks (chair), H. C. Taylor, F. Parsons, J. B. Richards, J. R. Corrigan. A. K. Fyson, W. Fastier. The statement of accounts to he presented to th© annual meeting of delegates was considered. They disclosed a satisfactory position, enablinjcr, tihe executive to decide upon a levy for the coming season of id per 1001 b of butterfat supplied, this being -half the levy of the previous year and only one-quar-ter of the maximum authorised. It Was reported that H. A. Lane -and Co., Ltd., had made a donation of £26 5s towards; the research fund of the federation. The comparison of the results of cheese consignments, it was stated, bad been most helpful to directors of companies. ’Mr Richards gave particulars of an experiment to determine the productive value of nitrogenous top-dressing applied to dairy lands. It wa,s decided th?b the facilities of the laboratory should be made available. Tlv- proposals of the Department of Scientific and Ind-nstral Research in regard- to the co-ordination of the work r.f the laboratory with, the work of the Massev Agricultural College met with approval from the executive.
