PAGO PAGO, Aug. 25. ' The Commonwealth and Dominion Port Napier, bound from London for Auckland, arrived here last night after being afire for six hours with a blaze, in the proximity of oils, paints, and cement- cargo. The radio station was in constant communication with the steamer during the afternoon, and several American vessels were ready to aid in extinguishing the blaze wlieii she anchored. The fire is now extinguished. Members of the crew of the Ontario, a ship of the American Navy, were hurriedly recalled from Apia. They had intended to play golf there, hut were needed at- Pago Pago- to ploy fire hoses.
