The nuptialMas's- was celebrated by Father Delfrancescoi. The weather was fine but cloudy. A crowd of 20,000 stretched from the front of the Gabbed ralli across the road to Hyde Plairtk. Thousands of women and girls fought desperately to get inside the Cathedral hours before the ceremony. By 11.30 tht city streets arid tall buildings were thronged with excited; women who waved: and cheered the prim a donna as she motored past in a large sedan lavishly bedecked with spring flowers, hyacinths, sweet peas, violets and carnations.
