MILK GRADING.
WHENUAKURA OPERATIONS. SUCCESS SECURED. A decision was carried at the annual meeting of the shareholders of the Whennakura. Dairy Company on Saturday to continue the policy of milk grading. Air. Vealo was present, and in the course of an interesting statement said that he hoped every thing had turned out satis! notori I.V. ~ The Whonuakura Company was the first in New Zealand to adopt a differential payment for the milk supply, and in its hands was the deciding of a. policy, not so much for itself hut for the' industry. . Air Veale said both the chairman (Mr. F. Parsons) and the manager (Mr. George Thorlnmi) supported the •system, and he honed the meeting would adopt the principle for the ensuing year. The chairman said that ns a result, of the grading the company's ratio had improved from 2.61 in the previous rear to 2.68. The grading ,of the milk had been reflected in the grading of the cheese. _ Tim chairman said, in reply to a question, they had only 24 crates of second-grade cheese last season and none this.
