GIRL GUIDES.
Good progress is being made by the Kapomga Girl Guides and Brownie’s. The local association, under the presidency of Aim J. Guy, is a very live institution. and, judged by the number of parents who attended the Parish Hall, on Friday evening last to witness the enrollment of the Brownie ipack, the public is deeply interested in the work of the organisation. The Divisiona Commander, All's J. Houston. 'accompanied- by District Commissioner Airs Steven, and Stratford Brown Owl Airs Abraham, visited the branch to perform the enrolling. The Brownies, paraded under Brown Owl Ali-ss Coissuro, were enrolled by District Commissioner Airs Steven, the Guides, under Guiders Misses Anderson and I. Melville, forming a bodyguard. After the enrolment ceremony the evening was spent in true Guide fashion, with songs and games. Supper wois handed round by the local committee. after which, Alts Ta.it thanked the visitors for their great assistance and kind interest and' Airs Houston spoke, of the grea t pleasure it gave them to find a new branch progressing so well. This singing of “Taps” hv the Guides and Brownies and the National Anthem by all concluded a very pleasant evening.
