BULLER DEFEATS SOUTHLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WESTPORT, Aug. 16. Buffer defeated the Southland touring Rugby team this afternoon by 11 points to three. The game was very strenuous. The Buffer forwards dominated the play, but at times both back divisions showed individual and collective brilliance. Sound tackling was the order of the day. At half-time Buffer led eight to nil, tries being scored by Caldwell and Robinson, one being converted by Caldwell.
