The adverse climatic conditions spoilt the attendance, but there were many enthusiasts present who witnessed a good fast game.. At the commencement Mangatoki assaulted Elitham's goal several times in quick .succession, but the Reds retaliated with a rush in which Davis was outstanding, but the latter missed tihe ball when a score looked certain. Guy saved with a great hit when Eltham were in the circle. Davies just after spoilt a chance for Eltham by getting offside. A fierce onslaught by the Whites ended in Foreman saving for Eltham by a great hit, sending the game to the opposing end. A. McG u.iuness, goalie for Mangatoki, was outstanding with a brilliant save by getting the ball from the net, sending the gains to midfield, but the Reds came again .and a nice, passing hit by Davies to Laimbie saw Eltham put in the first score.
