SPECIAL HOGGET SALE AT FORDELL. The New Zealand Loan a-n-d Mercantile Agency Co,, Ltd., report, as follows: We -hold our special hogget scale at Ford-ell on- -the 14th. inst. when sheep came forward .well up to advertised numbers. The hoggets as- a whole were in good condition, and practically a-Ll off turnips. There -was a -good att.endamco of buyers from Morton, Foil ding, Palmerston North and -surroundin-g districts. The bidding was keen an-d well sustained and -practically the whole yarding was disposed of u-n-der the hammer at prices satisfactory to vendors. The .following is -the range of prices: Best ewe woolly hoggets, 34s -to 38s 2d; medium ewe -hoggets, 28s lOd to 345; best wether hoggets, 32s to 335; medium wether hogget-s, 26s Id to 3ls Id. WAIKATO .MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— Beef.—The market, is very firm and there has been a good rise during the last fortnight, best prime ox making 40/- per -1001 b, and prime cow and heifer up 'to 38/-. With little offering wc are likely to see very high prices during spring and the early summer.

Fat Sheep.—-Sufficient -is coining forward to meet the demand, and although prices are firm there has been no rise lately.

Store iShcep.—There is still a 'strong inquiry for good ewes in lamb, wethers and hoggets, the latter class being hard to obtain.

Store Cattle. —The ynrilings have 'been small with a very strong demand for young and -grown steers, also good store cows. There appears to be a big shortage of male cattle, and it looks os if we will see very high prices this spring. Dairy Cattle.—Good dairy herds and good springing ‘heifers are meeting with keen competition. Pigs.—Prices for baeoners are good; there is also a good demand for -big stores, but weaners and slips are still verv low.
