Waterside workers are boycotting different vessels at- Cairns and Bowen. Those chiefly affected are the Eumaeus, Fiona, OrnugaL and Port Pirie. The- latter should he loaded with sugar and meat. The dispute- is due to dissatisfaction with the recently announced award and the employment of .free labour on certain vessels during the recent cooks’ strike.

Friction is reported also from Fremantle, where the watersiders are demanding concessions for unloading nitrates. Fears are entertained of another maritime upheaval.
