• BOY INJURED BY PEA RIFLE. (By Telegrapn—Press Association.) TAUMAR,ANiUI, Aug. 15. As the result of a shooting accident at Ohura yesterday, A. P. Brown, aged 18, was removed to the Taumaranui Hospital with a. pea rifle bullet in Ms knee. Brown, and another youth were loading the rifle when a cartridge- jammed, exploding las the breech was pushed home.

• LORRY DRIVER. INJURED. GISBORNE, Aug. 15. When starting -a municipal lorry early this morning it back-fired and ignited the petrol. In endeavouring to suppress the flames W. McDonnell was severely burned about the arms. The lorry was destroyed.
