A WOMAN’S SUIOIDF.

An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Gertrude Hilda Roberts, a married woman, who was found dead on Monday afternoon in the washhouse of her residence in Mastertou with her head in a gas oven and the gas turned on. The evidence showed that deceased had apparently attempted to hang herself with a rope from the washhouse ceiling, but the rope broke and in falling she partially fractured her skull. It appeared as if she had then walked to the gas oven. The coroner found that deceased came by her death from the _ effects of gas poisoning, deceased having previously attempted to liaug herself while mentally depressed.
