Air Vancooth has returned from Belfast very pleased with the results ol experiments with coir fibre material. Samples produced indicate that the new material, when woven and callendered under 50 to 75 tons pressure, leslilts in a. bagigng material most useful for all round commodities, not only wool packs, but also for wheat bags coal sacks, potato bags and cement bags. Experts wore favourably mipressed with the possibilities. Ml Vancooth claims that the coir fabrics can compete both in quality nnd puce against imported jute frabnes anynhere The mechanical spinning of coir varn would bei of the utmost value in the Pacific islands and mandated territory and would provide work for hundreds of. people in Australia and other dominions.
