HONOLULU, Aug. 13. The Australian and New Zealand delegates t° tlie Pan-Pacdfic Conference, when interviewed, expressed themselves surprised and gratified by the number of countries represented, the size of delegations and the hospitality extended to them. One hundred and fifty women from a dozen Pacific countries are discussing various problems under the chairmanship of Aliss Jane Adams. Airs Redebbeith said that the conference was much larger and a more seriout affair than the Australian public realised. It was capable of tremendous results, of creating an understanding and sympathy among Pacific peoples and mutually assisting in a solution of their problems. The conference began to work by sections, the Australian and New Zealand delegates taking a prominent part. (Dr. Ethel Osborne, of Melbourne, is vice-chairman of the health section, Aik® Emily Chaplin, of New Zealand, is chairman of the education section, Miss Muriel Swain, of Sydney, is vicechairman of the women in industry and professions section, Air® R.ischbeith, of Perth, is vice-chairman of the women in Government section. Airs E. IX Amos of Bundaherg, Miss Aluriel Swain, and Airs G. F. Fraer, of Christchurch, are round table leaders. Dr. Osborne and Mrs Fraer are members of the resolutions committee, while Alts Bischibeith is a member of the continuation committee.
