While at school on Thursday mornintr xtclna Hartle, aged six years, a pupil at South School was seized "Ah an epileptic lit and collapsed. She was remo. eel to her home, where she died some hours later. The death was reported the coroner, but it is understood •in inquest will not be necessary. It is stated that the child had previously been receiving medical treatment at balelutha. where she showed symptoms o. epileptic trouble. INFANT CHILD STRANGLED. INVERCARGILL, Aug. 10., \ distressing accident, resulting in -be death of an infant, occurred at Glenham on Thursday, when Johan Sheila McDonald, aged 12 months a daughter of Charles McDonald, fell from her pram and was accidentally strangled. Mrs. McDonald found the child half out of the pram caught by her dress, which was wound so tightly around the child’s neck that although it was at once removed the child was dead.
