AUROA.
(From O'ut- Own Correspondent.) BENEFIT SOCIAL. On Wednesday evening a very successful and enthusiastic benefit social to Air W. Bradford, the injured footballer, was held in the local hall. Over £2O was taken at the doors. The dance music was supplied by the- well-known Maori orchestra, and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Messrs "\Y. Martin and J.. Bigbam. Messrs B. Bspin and T>. Mercer proved ha-rd working secretaries. The spot waltz was .von by Mr C. Espin and Miss J. Lyndon, the Monte- Carlo- waltz by Miss E. Bradford and partner, and the Monte Oatdo -schottisohe by Air Brian Bradford and Ali-ss K. Bradford. The weight of oh© cake was guessed by Mr W. B. Brown.
Mr Kruse thanked all those present for their attendance and valuable contributions towards the supper, which had meant so much in making for the financial success of the social. WOMEN'S DIVISION OF THE FARMERS’ UNION.
Last week a successful meeting of the women’s division of the Fanners’ Union wa-s held in the ha-11, presided over by Airs Lyndon, president, and Miss Duff, secretary. It was decided to hold a dance- on the 23rd in-st, EUOTTREI PARTIES. Owing to so many counter attractions there wa-s only a fair attendance at the last euchre party. The winners were Aliss Putt and Air J. Bighorn. A large gathering is expected at the- windup "function next AVednesday.
