The- contour of the- face of a child or young girl is very beautiful, but with the passing of the years the pure outline becomes blurred. Although it is impossible- to keep the beautiful lines of youth, we can do much by means of exercises to- preserve- facial contour. A double chin is not only unsightly, but- it adds years to the age. A tendency to a double chin may be checked Ivy massage. Place the tips of the fingers 011 the cheekbone, near the temples, and with the thumbs meeting under the chin, then with firm movements -pass the thumbs- from- the centre of the chin until they meet the fingers. Repeat- for a few minutes. A good exercise for preventing a double chin is to protrude- the lower jaw and; lip, as- if saying an exaggerated “Phew!” Say the word to yourself several times, blowing hard as you do so, and repeat- the exercise -several times night and morning. Another exercise is to bend the head forward, place the clasped hands behind the head, ancl raise the head until you can look at the ceiling, pressing the head backwards against the weight of the hands. Repeat a few times. Then elaso the hands underneath the chin; head bent far hack, and bend the head slowly forward, a-si -if pushing downwards against their weight. Repeat a •few times.
