Received 10.55 a.m. to-day. AMSTERDAM, Aug. 6. Tfi© result only emphasised how Borg has improved.. Borg began with, great determination and terrific pace. He secured a lead of eight metres at one hundred metres. Borg continued at an amazing pace, but was frequently erratic, striking the ropes. The crowd shouted to Chariton to speed. Borg started to draw away from Clharlton at six hundred mentres and was leading by about eight metres with Cnabbe about six behind. Chariton, by a terrific struggle, produced rounds of cheers. The Americans were now applauding for Charlton. Gharlt-on began the greatest effort- of his career at thirteen hundred metres, but found that Barg was nort to ibe caught. Frank Moody knocked out Milligan (Glasgow) in the first round at Amsterdam.

The English champion, Collett, also re-entered the single s fluids, winning the R-opeohage, heat. Borg will, not start in the hundred metres, but ibe is in such brilliant form that it is difficult to see anybody else win the four hundred metres.
