MANAIA.
OBITUARY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) It. is with deep regret that- friends will learn of the death of Mr James Bou-rke, senr., Sutherland Road, Mali ala, which took place on Monday evening after a long illness, at the age of 85 years. Mr Bou-rke was one of the first* pioneer settlers of the Waimate Plains, settiling in Manaia over fifty v-esi-rs ago-. tfe was a most successful farmers. He was highly respected by everyone who knew luim. He leaves a family ' of four sons, i.e., Edward (1 nah'a), James (Wavedey, David Cambridge), and Walliwm. (Sutherland Road, Mama ia), also one- daughter, Miss Mary Bou-rke. His wife predeceased him -about fourteen vea-rs ago. The funeral is to take place to-morrow (Wednesday) Heaving the Catholic' Church, Manaita, at 1.30 p.m.
