TAKAU-ELTHAM DOG TRIAL CLUE.
SU'B-COMMIT TEE FORMED.

A meeting called for tlic purpose of forming a sub-committee in Eltham was held on Friday evening at Eltham. There was a fair attendance, the Mayor (Mr I. J. Bridgcr) presided. Mr Jackson, president of the 'TakauEltham (Club, outlined the proposal, and stated that the Takau-Eltham was the premier club of Taranaki. It conducted more trials and had been the most popular club for many years. The club was financially sound, having £l2O on fixed deposit. During the past vc-ar it had donated £lO to the Hawera Club for the purpose of helping with the championship i event, to be held there next year. The club by its efforts was helping to develop the most useful and intelligent 'type of sheep dog. It. was also anxious to assist the children of the higher standards of the various schools to see the exhibitions of dog training. Mr Jackson suggested that a subcommittee 'in Elthani would be of. great assistance to the club in assisting it with suggestions and helping with the membership campaign and in making arrangements for the trails port of visitors and the school children lo the trials.
The suggestion was. supported Toy Messrs T. tB. (Crump, L. Nairn and others. Mr (Crump moved and Mr Peebles seconded, a proposition that those citizens .present form themselves into a sub-committee with power to add to their number ’for the purpose of promoting the sport and assisting the club in its work. This was carried and Mr L. Nairn was appointed chairman and Mr N. Peebles secretary pro tern. MOTOR) COLLISION.
A collision between a motor ea.i driven by Mr R. J. Harrison, of Ellthfim and a motor cycle ridden by a man named Taylor, of Gpunake, took place at the intersections of York and Bridge Streets, Eltham, at nine o’clock this morning. The motor cydlist received a rather had shaking:; the machine was somewhat damaged, as was also the car. The EUtliani Salvation Army hand visited Inglewood yesterday and took part in the services of the Inglewood Corps. A concert was given in the children’s park in the afternoon.
