WEDDING.
WATT'S—McLEAN. St. John’s T-resbyterian 'Church', Hawera, was recently the scene of a very pretty wedding, when Miss Winifred May McLean, second daughter of 'Miami "Mrs J. iM’eLean, Kapuni, was marricct to •Clarcn'ce Alfred Watts, second son of Mrs and .the late iMr J. Watts, Okaiawa. The Lev. B. Miller, of Manaia officiated. The bride who was given away by her father looked charming in a frock of white crepe de ‘chine, with georgette sleeves, and georgette over the skirt, trimmed with silver lace and finished with a dainty silver ornament. Her handsomely embroidered veil was finished with a coronet of orange blossoms and she carried a beautiful bouquet. Miss Elsie McLean, sister of the bride, and Miss Merle Harrison, friend of the bride, acted as bridesmaids, wearing dainty frocks of apricot. crepe de chine, trimmed with guipure lace with ornaments of blue on the shoulder and side. Both wore headbands and carried bouquets of pink and blue flowers. Little Doreen Watts, neiee of the bridegroom acted as flower girl, and was daintily attired in a frock of blue crepe de chine trimmed with lace and embroidered in pink. She wore a head band to match and carried a basket off pink and blue flowers. Mr Leslie Watts, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Mr Claude Phipps, co’usin of the bridegroom -was groomsman. After the wedding a reception was held at the 'Carlton dining rooms where over ninety guests sat down to the wedding breakfast and the usual toasts were honoured. Afterwards the happy couple, amid showers of iconfetti and good -wishes left by ear for Auckland, where the honeymoon was spent.
